SPRINGHILL YOUTH
Our purpose is to point students to the person of Jesus Christ, connect them with the church, provide a place to fellowship with students, and respond to the gospel together.At Springhill, we believe that the youth are an essential part of the body of Christ. Students at Springhill engage in the four fields of Gathering, Going, Gospel, and Growing.
We gather on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm, Sundays from 9-10 am, and we host events monthly. Each of these gatherings are a way for students to connect and form deep relationships where we encourage one another, worship together, and study God’s Word.
We go by reaching our community through various outreaches throughout the year. In addition, we go beyond our community to reach others with the gospel on mission trips.
We engage the gospel weekly as we study the Word together and allow the good news of Jesus to challenge us to share that transformative news with those around us.
We grow as disciples of Christ by taking intentional time for student discipleship. Through camps, our regular meetings, and events, we hope to create spaces where students can grow deeply in their faith.

Youth Pastor and Worship Leader
Tyler and Alicia have served at Springhill since 2021. They are passionate about serving the youth of our church and they believe that our students are an integral part of the church body. Tyler loves teaching the Bible and Alicia leads our youth worship team!

I started my journey with Christ at the age of 12 at my grandma’s house after attending Vacation Bible School with her. I have two grown children and one daughter-in-law. I am originally from Buffalo, MO, and moved to Springfield in 2021. I was a teacher for 22 years before retiring and am getting ready to return to the teaching field next school year. Some time after starting at Springhill Baptist, I began helping with the youth group. I love it! I love working with youth, interacting with them, and hopefully giving them a real-life example of what it means to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” My favorite verse is Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

I feel like I serve to give the next generation a positive influence and someone to relate to, and who will help them as they grow in their relationship with the Lord. And I hope to see everyone in the youth group flourish into the beautiful creation that the Lord has created us to be! My hobbies include hunting, fishing, gun collecting, and working on automobiles (classic ones, to be specific) and I absolutely love antique shopping and collecting vintage items.
