Jesus’ command to “go” serves as a powerful reminder of the Christian’s duty to actively engage with those who lack the hope of Jesus Christ. His command forces us to be strategic in reaching out to new people and communities. Individually, this command conveys a personal responsibility of each Christian to actively engage with those who have not yet experienced the hope found in Jesus Christ. As a local family of believers, it challenges us to think outside of ourselves and to engage with both our neighbors locally and people groups around the world. Whether individually or collectively as a church, this command calls us to be intentional with our time and resources. Our going not only transforms the lives of those we reach but also the lives of those who go.
