Deacon Ordination

Acts 6 begins with telling us how people (namely the widows) were being overlooked in the early church.  The apostles told the church family to “choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom.”  These men were called to “serve the tables.”  Our church has 13 deacons who faithfully serve the families in our church, as well as taking care of many of the unseen tasks around the church.

We will be ordaining two men in our church to serve as deacons.  It will take place during our regular service and give us a time to pray over them and affirm the call the Lord has placed before them, for His bride and His kingdom.
